I am committed to the provision of compassionate, professional psychological care for clients. I work from a holistic perspective and believe that our physical and mental well being are inseparable and interrelated. Counselling is a confidential, accepting space to freely express and explore feelings of sadness, anger or distress you may be experiencing. This may be a specific difficulty; relationship problems; dissatisfaction with life; or loss of a sense of direction or purpose.

Exploring and understanding present emotions, thoughts and behaviour, with an awareness of the importance of the unconscious and past experience, can enable the delicate process of change. I believe that the trusting relationship with an attentive and empathic therapist is key to this process. The objective is for you to develop inner resources and therefore the power and freedom to bring about effective change and enhance well being.

My background is in Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience. I am qualified in a variety of psychological approaches, including psychodynamic, humanistic/person-centred, existential and cognitive behavioural therapies. I have 7 years experience as a talking therapist, with a diverse range of clients, working in the voluntary sector, for an Employee Assistance Programme and in private practice. I also have experience of teaching counselling skills. I offer both short and long-term flexible 'bespoke' services with the individual client's needs and agenda firmly at the centre. I have a special interest in working with older clients.

Trained at Roehampton University with a Masters degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy; I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and listed on the Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists, approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.
