The Founding Directors

 

We felt that it would be valuable to know a little about each of the Founding Directors:

Tony Novissimo (Managing Director)

Tony has been practising Psychotherapy and Counselling for eight years and works using integrative, psychodynamic and spiritual platforms. Tony had many years experience in the corporate world before studying to become a counsellor and psychotherapist. He has also spent some 40 years studying the philosophy of Advita and concepts relating to the "true self". Tony is now developing new theoretical models in the realm of Psychotherapy and new ways to measure outcomes.

Debbie Courtney

Debbie has been a practising Counsellor for four years. She works using person centred and cognitive behavioural therapy techniques.

Debbie has worked for nine years in the public sector and has experience of people management in addition to mentoring young people and families - particularly those who have moved to the UK to seek asylum.

 

Anna Romaniuk

Anna is an experienced Transactional Analysis Counsellor and Psychotherapist who integrates various styles of Psychotherapy and Counselling in her practice.

She works with individuals, couples and groups in a range of clinical settings. She has also worked with disabled young people and their families since 2001.

Anna holds a professional Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute. She also completed four years of training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and is currently completing her Masters research.

Additionally, Anna holds certificates in Integrative Counselling Skills and Theory, Psychodynamic Counselling and Transpersonal Studies (Spiritual).

She is a full member of: BACP (British Association of Counselling& Psychotherapy), EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis) and MI (Metanoia Institute).

 

Joan La Bassiere

Joan is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a member of the BACP (The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy). She has been practising for over 15 years both in the USA and London and is utterly committed to providing effective Counselling and Psychotherapy to all her clients.

Joan works within the ethical framework of the BACP and is proud to be a founding member/director of The London Therapy Foundation (LTF).

Joan has experience working with several presentations such as addictions, domestic violence, trauma, depression, loss, PTSD anger, relational issues, Parkinson’s and cancer. I work with children, adolescents and families. Part of my experience with trauma, loss and PTSD was gained from providing counselling on site at 9/11 and working with survivors and families afterwards.


Louise Doughty

Louise has been a practising Counsellor for three years and works using person centred techniques.  She currently works in the healthcare sector and also in the voluntary sector providing support and management of loss and grief. She holds a professional diploma in Integrative Counselling and is currently working towards her accreditation and research degree.  She is a member of the BACP.
